The “Raffaele Piria” Medal, like the “Stanislao Cannizzaro” and the “Emanuele Paternò” Medals, is awarded every four years by the Italian Society of Chemistry”, proposed by a committee of 5 members; 3 are nominated by the National Academy of Sciences and 2 by the Italian Society of Chemistry. Since 1986 the Prize is administered by the Italian Society of Chemistry.
