Description

The Noether Awards were established in 1999. As a tribute to Professor Gottfried Emanuel Noether who died on August 22, 1991 in Windham, Connecticut, his wife, Dr. Emiliana Noether and daughter, Dr. Monica Noether, presented the American Statistical Association (ASA) with an Endowment Fund to recognize distinguished researchers and teachers and to support research in the field of nonparametric statistics.

Noether Senior Scholar Award
2007 : Peter Hall, University of Melbourne for outstanding contributions to the theory and applications of nonparametric statistics.

Noether Young Scholar Award
2007 : Davy Paindaveine, Université Libre de Bruxelles for outstanding early career contributions to nonparametric statistics.
