The Javed Husain Prize for Young Scientists was launched in 1987 by a 34-year old Indian scientist named Javed Husain who wished to help young scientists gain recognition for their work. The Prize rewards outstanding pure or applied research carried out by scientists of no more than 35 years of age in the natural or social sciences or in technology.
