Neural, Physiological, and Genotypic Effects on Social Organization & Division of Labor in Insects, Evolution of Social Behavior, Tropical Community Ecology

His research focuses on the behavior and ecology of social wasps (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) and other social insects (ants, bumblebees, and stingless bees). He is especially interested in how behavioral differences among individuals within colonies are determined by social, physiological, and genetic factors. I am also exploring how climate and productivity affect species diversity and biological community structure.
