Professeur au Collège de France (chaire d'Immunologie moléculaire) et Professeur associé à l'Institut Pasteur. Il a rejoint l'Institut Pasteur où il dirige l'Unité de Biologie Moléculaire du Gène.

Membre de l'Académie des Sciences et de l'Academia Europaea.

Thèmes de recherche

étude de la structure, de l'expression et de la régulation des gènes des organismes supérieurs, notamment celui de l'ovalbumine de la poule ; étude des gènes codant pour les antigènes majeurs d'histocompatibilité, de leur polymorphisme, du mécanismes qui règlent leurs expressions, puis à expliciter leur mode d'action dans le déclenchement des réponses immunes, particulièrement dans l'activation des cellules tueuses spécifiques. Contribution :à la définition de plusieurs protocoles de vaccination anti-tumorales et à l'étude de la composition des répertoires immunitaires et à l'analyse de leur variabilité individuelle.
