Research interests

Isotope geochemistry. Structure and evolution of the Earth, melting and magmatic differentiation, global geochemical cycle, timescales of recent (<500ka) processes, development of isotopic techniques. Work to date has largely focussed on the past and present structure of the mantle, some 80%, by volume of the Earth. This dominant Earth reservoir controls and is itself influenced by exchange with the outer layer of the Earth.
